Shaykh Rabee Regarding blind following


Imām Rabee' Ibn Hādee Al'Madkhalee -May Allaah preserve him- said:
"At'taqleed¹ is :Accepting someone's statement without evidence.
And the Salafies do not accept statement's except if they are based upon evidence's and proof's."

And He said:
"We are not saying:close your eyes and run behind us, but examine with understanding and comprehension, and let that be accompanied with honesty and sincerity."

Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Hādī Al-Madkhalī explains the evil results of bad companionship

Al-Allāmah Muhammad ibn Hādī Al-Madkhalī حفظه الله تعالى said: "Sufyaan ibn Wakee' ibn Al-Jarrah ibn Maleeh Ar-Ruāsī was afflicted by his warraq, which means his writer, because his writer used to write down hadeeths that was not his. The people advised him about his writer several times, but he did not accept their advice, so he fell, and using him (i.e., his hadeeth) as proof was rejected. And this is a proof of evil companionship and that his company could affect you O person being accompanied, even if you are not doing what he does, and this is also a sign for us in this time, they say so and so is from the students of the Mashayakh the student of so and so, ok if he was evil how does that help so and so? Giving precedence to the elders is not general Ibn Battāl Rahimahullah said in the explanation of Saheeh Al-Bukhārī vol.9 pg. 317 and 318 in the Maktaba alrushd print Honouring the elders and putting them first in speaking and in all affairs is from the manners and excellent morals of Islām, and Abdur-Razzaq mentioned in the Hadeeth (from glorifying Allāh's loftiness is respecting those who have reached old age in Islām) and with this meaning the Prophet ﷺ said:(The elder the elder) So he ordered  to let the elder be the first one too speak, so this is a Sunnah, but the Hadeeth of Ibn 'Umar proves that the meaning of this is not general, in fact it is incumbent that the elder starts speaking in that which the young and old are equal in knowledge, but if the youth knew that which the elder was ignorant of, then it is incumbent for the one who has knowledge to mention it and put it forth, even if he was young, and that is not considered bad manners or being short with the ri...
